Academy Band

Our Academy began in 2013 with a handful of players. Today it includes over 80 students and adults that undertake community concerts, competitions, and arranges seminars and other opportunities for members.
North Shore Brass Academy has entered several National Contests with the crowning achievement coming 3rd in the C grade in 2023. The band since 2019 also attends the ABA (Auckland Bands Association) contests as well as a regular appearances at the Matamata Brass Festival, the Murrays Bay Wharf Birdman competition and often joins the senior band at concerts.

North Shore Youth Brass

In 2018 we formed the North Shore Youth Brass as the Academy has expanded and there are further opportunities for a pure youth band.

Our youth players come together for their very own rehearsals.
They learn lots about music theory, and work on pieces that
They play at our end of term concerts, public performances, Christmas carolling as well as compete in the ABA solo and band competitions

North Shore Brass Community Band

This is an all comers band that rehearses and performs for fun, but not contest. It is the perfect band for those returning members that have not played for a while and want a low pressure but musically rewarding experience.
